Centennial Editions of Ayn Rand's Works

Marking the 100th anniversary of Ayn Rand's birth, the publisher of her works has issued centennial editions featuring newly designed cover illustrations. The covers of the centennial trade paperbacks (softcovers) are slightly modified replicas of the original artwork from the first editions of each book, and are printed on high-quality paper with rough edges. The covers of the standard paperbacks are the work of the publisher's staff designers.

These centennial editions are available from the Ayn Rand Bookstore. Click on an image for more information.

The Early Ayn Rand
Centennial Edition

A Selection From Her Unpublished Fiction, Revised Edition

Edited and with an introduction and notes by Leonard Peikoff. This remarkable, newly revised collection of Ayn Rand's early fiction—now including her previously unpublished short story "The Night King"—ranges from beginner's exercises to excerpts from early versions of We the Living and The Fountainhead. Arranged chronologically, 1926 through 1940, these works allow readers to follow the extraordinary trajectory of Rand's literary and intellectual growth, from a twenty-one-year-old Russian immigrant struggling to master English to the brilliant prose stylist she was to become in her mature work.

Three Plays
Centennial Edition

Published together for the first time, here are Ayn Rand's three compelling stage plays. Written in 1933, and a Broadway success in 1935, Night of January 16th is presented here in its definitive, final revised text—a superb dramatic objectification of Ayn Rand's vision of human strength and weakness, a play famous for the author's refusal to prearrange a dramatized verdict, leaving the solution to the audience. Also included are: Think Twice (1939), a philosophical murder mystery, and Ideal (1934), the author's bitter indictment of people's willingness to betray their highest values.
